Ascot Pace Angles

Tuesday Kings Stand 01 >>> 02 >>>>>>>>>>>> 03 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 04 >>>>>>>>>> 05 >>>>>>>>>>> 06 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 07 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 08 >>>>>>>>>>>>> 09 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 10 >>>>>>>>>>>>> 11 >>>>>>>>>>> 12 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 13 >>>>>>>>>>>> 14 >>>>>> 15 >>> It's staggering how much early pace there is in today's race. 12 of the 15 runners have made the running at least once in their career. They will be going very quick, very early. It's possibly this will have an effect on the result. If those held up off the pace are able to get into the race, I would imagine the likely gallop would suit them most of all. Tomorrow: Royal Hunt Cup

Re: Ascot Pace Angles I'm not 100% surprised to see no discussion to this post as pace is commonly overlooked, even when it looks sure to play a part in the result. I have never seen a race where there were so many prominent runners. As I expected the race was contested by those coming off the strong pace. The only two definite hold up horses (box 1 and 15) finished 1-2. 1st - Scenic Blast (15) patiently ridden towards rear 2nd - Fleeting Spirit (1) dwelt, in rear of main group. In fact the four to the rear of the field all finished in the first 6 home. :ok
