Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Rd. 16, International Friendly & Co-op Champs One for me tonight.

Harlequins (+8) to beat Hull KR @ 10/11 (Betfred) 3/5

I’m taking Quins with the start tonight at KR. They’ve done well this season beating Celtic, Leeds, Castleford & Salford away from home and only being out of the 8 start vs. high-fliers Huddersfield and Saints. They come into the game missing Tony Clubb on England duty and Luke Dorn, Danny Ward and Chad Robinson to injury. Clubb and Dorn paticularly are big misses but Hull KR have important players out as well…

Hull KR come into the game on the back of a 22-6 defeat to Huddersfield last week and a heart-breaking golden point loss to Warrington in the Cup the week before. They will arguably be missing a couple of their most important players to international duty in winger Peter Fox and full-back Shaun Briscoe. To compound matters, Ben Cockayne and Liam Colbon are also unavailable due to suspension and injury respectively. With these player's missing, I can see some adjustments being needed in terms of players to attack the breaks/passes/kicks created by Paul Cooke and Mick Dobson. Jake Webster's return in the centre's is a bonus though.

Although the weather forecast is favourable, I can see this being a relatively low-scoring affair overall. I think Briscoe is a big loss defensively for KR and as a result can see Quins, with Randall and Orr pulling the strings, scoring a few more points maybe than they normally would. Over the course of the game though, the KR pack should ultimately have enough to secure the 2pts - just hopefully within the 8pt margin! GL all :hope :ok

Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Rd. 16, International Friendly & Co-op Champs I'm Not getting involved tonight and might just take a back seat the whole weekend. Looks a tricky round for me and with players missing from most teams we might see a weird result or two. Good luck to the lads who get involved

Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Rd. 16, International Friendly & Co-op Champs Taking Saints O 38.5 pts @ 5/6 skybet. Cas leaked 34 at home to Wire last week, and Sts put 68 past them a few weeks back. Cas playing with a re-shuffled 3/4 line tonight, with Evans and Shenton absent, 2nd rower Ferres will fill in one of the centre spots, whilst regular winger Dixon reverts to FB. Will also miss the excellent defence of Westerman and craft of Sherwin. Sts missing the go forward of Graham and guile of Roby, but with Long and Pryce in fine form and ideal St Helens weather, the 38 should be well in reach. Have beat it in 5 from last 6 outings between these two. GL all.

Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Rd. 16, International Friendly & Co-op Champs Well done boys :clap I like these quietish rubgy forums, best ones. There's a couple of lads at puntersmate.net who put up some good Rugby League bets too. I've had winners at 10/3, 6/5, 2/1, 6/4, 11/4 from there recently.

Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Rd. 16, International Friendly & Co-op Champs Cheers lads, great shout on that Saints overs Greenhoff :clap.

One more for me this weekend.

Wakefield (-2) to beat Hull @ Evs (bet365) 2/5

Hull come into this game on the back of a three game losing streak. Some would argue they’ve been unfortunate to come up against the likes of Saints, Wire and Leeds in those three games but it’s also worth considering that they’ve failed to get ahead of the handicapper on each occasion (-2 v Wire, +12 v Leeds & +10 v Saints). IMO they look to be missing a bit of youthful enthusiasm in the shape of the injured Tom Briscoe and Craig Hall (who both looked pretty handy before getting injured earlier this season) and added to the absences of Cusack, Washbrook, Manu, G.Horne and now Calderwood I’m going to take them on again tonight.

As the case with a lot of teams this round, Wakefield have team changes of their own as well. Ryan Atkins is on International duty and Jason Demetriou, Ricky Bibey and Aaron Murphy are all injured while Kevin Henderson is on compassionate leave. I’m slightly worried by Demetriou’s absence as he gets through a lot of defensive work but Jay Pitts and Richard Moore’s returns in the forwards will hopefully off-set this. In terms of form, they haven’t been at their best in recent weeks, losing to Bradford, Huddersfield and Quins with a sole win over Celtic somewhere inbetween. However, the sides they’ve suffered defeats to are arguably in better shape at the moment than this Hull outfit and I fancy Wakey’s chances of getting back to winning ways this evening.

GL all :hope :ok

Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Rd. 16, International Friendly & Co-op Champs Another great shout that Lee. Back to form with a bang mate :ok. I've left this week alone for the same reasons as COUH but I might come back with something tomorrow if I see something which stands out.

Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Rd. 16, International Friendly & Co-op Champs Yeah, good end to the weekend for me. Initially fancied a bet in the Leeds/Hudds game but I'm not too confident on how to interpret the team news. Gonna leave for this week now I think. Although winning in the end, I wouldn't want my money riding on that Wakey outfit too often this season though :unsure. Defo' see McDermott at Bradford at some point. Aren't Bradford skint at the minute though? Always hear rumours that they would like shot of McNamara but can't afford it? GL if anyone goes for anything this afternoon lads :hope :ok
