3.00 Lingfield Caprio is suited by coming off a fast pace, and may get the race run to suit here with Dvinsky, Whiskey Junction, Idle Power and For Life all potentially setting up a breakneck gallop. Jim Boyle's horse won on his first start returned to this yard at the start of the month (off 3 lb lower) and placed off his current mark at Salisbury last time out behind a well-backed Vhujon. He is exposed but I feel he is more open to a little improvement than most of these and his running style means this race could be set right up for him on a track that suits the slingshot horses. Re: Lingfield 28/5/09 4.30 Lingfield Spring Adventure makes her handicap debut this afternoon and her initial mark of 80 seems fair and one off which she can operate in the immediate future. On her debut last year at Leicester she was third behind July Jasmine, who placed in a fillies listed race on her reappearance for Michael Stoute earlier this season. She made late headway that day over a 7f trip, and was staying on when she didn't find much room at the finish, suggesting she'd benefit from a step up to a mile. However, for her second start she was again tried over 7f, this time in a Newmarket maiden back in April. She bumped into Resort and the well regarded Balaagha (who has won since to boost the form) so wasn't disgraced in third, as she again stayed on inside the final furlong to grab herself some place money. Last time out Ed Dunlop did step her up to a mile and was rewarded with a comprehensive victory in a course and distance maiden. Getting 5 lbs from the second, who was rated 84, she finished three and a quarter lengths infront of Ralph Beckett's horse that day, and that appears to be where her current mark of 80 has come from. I think she has plenty more to offer over a mile and will take a chance on her this afternoon at a nice little price with the Balaagha form also suggested to me a mark of 80 is appealing. 6/1 Bet 365, 0.5 pt EW (1/4 odds, 3 places)
