Sandown Thurs 28/5

May end up down there tomorrow night, i know alexmac is going along 6.05 Serious Impact stands out for me as Gosden does well here & Fortune rides the track well. Ignoring its only 3yo start when it misbehaved in the stalls, it won 1st time this season over 10f & then upped to 12f finished a close 3rd to spring jim at york 2 weeks ago. Rival Kensington Oval was disapointing at Royal Ascot last year after winning here on debut impressively. That horse didnt look an easy ride on final start at Ascot either. 6.35 Normally a god 2yo sprint this one & Hannon has a worthy favourite. 7.10 Patkai looks to have an easy enough opprotunity here in this group 2 & looks a 2m specialist. Geordieland rarely wins due to its style of racing (doesnt like being in front!) & Tungsten Strike albeit backed to win this last year now looks too old to be able to beat the younger generation. 7.45 The group 3 looks a cracking race with breeders cup winner Conduit heading the field. It rose 33lb in the weights last season (now rated 46lb higher than last April!) & finished with a great prize. I backed it here last April when it failed to beat stablemate Colony! Will wait & see if last years exertions have taken thier toll. Godolphin horse Campanologist looked best when making all at R Ascot last june & was 4th here in the eclipse soon after. On previous form I cant see it beating Pipedreamer who i backed for this race last year when 3rd to surprise winner Smokey Oakey on very soft ground. Pipedreamers recent shd 2nd to Tartan Bearer here last month looks the best form coming into the race. 8.20 For me Racketeer looked impressive when winning the Esher cup here last time, however the form hasnt yet been franked. I wouldnt rule out the Godolphin horse Ashram that ran down the field in the Guineas. The stable hadnt fired at that time but since have been among the winners. A small interest for me. 8.50 one of my notebook horses runs in the race Medici Pearl. I suggested waiting for softer ground over 7f however looking at its previous form it has ran ok over the mile notably when 3rd at Newbury to Extra terrestial in April off 90. Made good progress from the rear to finish 7th at York last time out in the race won by Yamal. Main concern is that Easterby doesnt have winners here 0-8 in 5 years, so will probably wait another day!! . Kavachi looks ok at the weights but probably prefers a straight track. There isnt going to be much pace in the race with so many hold up horses & i like the look of Haggas's horse Shamali EW.
