Re: Why I Hate "Why I Hate Threads"

Personally i hate the eternal whining about the eternal whining about poker sites being rigged. If people used their brain they would realize that it's not absurd :eyes
I agree. It's all about increasing the rake baby;)

Re: Why I Hate "Why I Hate Threads" TBH there isn't a site out there that doesn't give a "joke" hand every now and again. Statistically speaking if you play enough hands then you are going to get one. My favourite lately was flopping trip 7's to someone else's trip 8's with both of us getting the money in. Only to be called by a villain who had a gutshot str8 flush draw which hit on the river!

Re: Why I Hate "Why I Hate Threads"

Yep' date=' I think there is far more luck involved in poker than all these professionals claim there is.[/quote'] There is far more luck involved if you are only playing so many tournies per week or a few hundred hands per week. Those who play thousands upon thousands of hands a week would be entitled to see it as more skill than luck imo.... (still need the luck of the board cards, but a lot more skill rquired from what I can see with reads etc...)

So the villain had a flush draw? It's irrelevant that it was a straight flush draw. He is about a 35-40% to win the hand so it's hardly a big shock. It just so happens that the card he flushed with made the straight as well. It happens and I'd be more worried if it didn't.

Yes you're right he was 38% on the flop with a 6 high flush draw calling a pot size bet and then a pot reraise and a pot re-reraise. An allin which was twice the bet again followed by an allin which was for all his money which was 75% of his stack. All before the turn card. So he now has all of his stack invested before the turn on a 6 high flush draw. The next bit I forgot to mention - The turn was an 8 giving me a full house and my opponent quads and the villain a 6 (8) high flush. If the money had not gone in already it was now. The river was the magic one outer - the 5 for the straight flush. If you disect the hand then he was getting the correct pot odds so technically he played it perfectly, however I was not criticising the play, just classifying this as one of those "joke" hands.

Re: Why I Hate "Why I Hate Threads" Well you didn't put the full info in the first post! :tongue2 Very bizzare hand but it does happen and when the money went in he wasn't a massive dog and it doesn't matter how he gets there as it's all included in the percentages. I'm also not saying any of you played it well/badly I was just pointing out the odds.
