Goodwood 25/5/09

Re: Goodwood 25/5/09 4.20 Goodwood John Dunlop has stated that Imaam's participation is ground dependent here but assuming he lines up, the Pivotal colt looks handicapped to go close off an opening mark of just 79. He had displayed some useful form as a juvenile - second on his debut in a Newmarket maiden and then following that up with a decent second in a Newbury maiden. At Newmarket he had Reaction one and a half lengths back in third, and that rival has since scored since handicapping (off 72). On his third start he pulled four lengths clear of Aqwaal in a Lingfield maiden and that rival has won all three races he has contested since, including a handicap off 85 when last seen. Those bits of form combined suggest Imaam is handicapped to have a chance off 79, and the manner of his victory in a Folkestone maiden last time out was ever so impressive and adds further appeal. He routed the field by seven lengths and with this step up in trip likely to bring about further improvement he looks a standout bet if anything like the tissue - RPF 6/1.
