Cadre ran too badly to be true on his reappearance when well backed at Lingfield but jockey Jimmy Fortune reported that he never felt he was travelling and it turned out his mount had finished lame that day. He had been off the track since September, but with the benefit of the Lingfield run under his belt and a return to fitness he then confirmed his ability with a win in a Yarmouth handicap last time out when getting the better of Tartan Gigha. He runs under a 6 lb penalty as a result of that success and is 3 lbs well in as a result, so could go well here providing he takes to the ground (untried on anything this soft to date).

Re: Haydock 21/5/09 1.50 Haydock Market moves this morning have sent Zuwaar back under my radar and I think he is worth a small bet at the price. He is a horse us AW-punters are very familiar with and landed a hat-trick when winning at Kempton in January. He struggled when upped to 75 next time out at Wolverhampton but the handicapper cut him some slack and he resumed his turf career off a mark of just 70 when winning over course and distance in this grade in April. He was beaten at Nottingham last time out off his current mark of 71 but wasn't disgraced in third as he didn't have the race run to suit, and bearing in mind that CD form, coupled with a mark only 1 lb higher than his last win and the Ian Williams yard in tremendous form, he looks a must bet at the price, albeit if this looks tougher and if he has to prove he handles soft (tried on Gd/Sft previously and although disappointing, it may not have been the ground per se that was responsible). 16/1 SJ, 0.25 pt
