Re: Ripon Sun 17th 3.40 race Ground has surely gone against the consistent Carcinetto who sets a decent standard here after recent runs in better company the 3yo's get a bt of weight off the others here & Mel Brittains horse Caranbola may give a good show. It was only beaten 2.5l in the valuable Tote 2yo trophy at redcar last season behind Total Gallery. It appears to be ok with easier ground & is a dual 5f/6f horse. Drawn 9 of 10 today which is ok as high draws seem to be ok at the track looking at previous results. 22/1 with sporting bet is way off the mark in my opinion & looks great valu ew .

Re: Ripon Sun 17th 17:10 - Maybeme Had two starts and has done fairly poorly. Looked to have a bit of ability, was just hampered at the start of the race LTO but kept on well (ish). This was at a grade better and a few months ago so I expect will have come on a bit, small E/W bet at 25/1 the order of the day I think.

Re: Ripon Sun 17th 3.40 Ripon - Angus Newz (win) Looking at the ground, the trip and the class I have this whittled down to just 2 - Angus Newz and Ponty Rossa, and the draw near the rail has swung things the way of Mick Quinn's charge. Winner of this event 2 yrs ago off 5lbs lower, she's a 3-time Listed race winner in her time, the softer ground conditions hold no concerns, and she has had 2 good runs recently at Chester and Bath, on both occasions staying on inside the last of the 5th furlongs - this step up to 6f will suit. 5pts Angus Newz @ 9/2 2pts Ponty Rossa @ 4/1

A close 4th, beaten to third by a neck... slightly annoying but that's the game we play!

what was that about, backed from 20's to 6/1 before the off, even 5 mins before off it was 9's then staright down te 6's they must have been piling on ran poorly!
