Lingfield - 9/5/09

Dont think there is a thread: 2.40 Tottie 6/1 bet3 bog 5 pts e.w Interesting runner here up in trip and on better ground than what it has been on. This one had some good form last year that received several boosts, the maiden at nott worked out well as did here win at bri over the subsequent racing post trophy sixth and finally her fine effort in a listed race when she ran on quite well without the clearest of runs. That was a good race that and there is a little between here and midday on that plus she is arguably more suited to this trip, certainly shapes as though a trip is within here range and she could go well. 3.45 Baileys Cacao 7/1 wh bog 5pts e.w Not brilliantly drawn and comes into this on the back of an average run lto but on last years form is a big player on this and may have a genuine excuse lto. Lto was the softest ground she has raced on and it may well be it didn’t suit here. Certainly she was well below her good form of last year like a listed win, a good enough fourth in a group 2 and also a fine effort when a late finishing second in the big sales race in ire when she was the stable no.1. On better ground she may be able to recreate that form and if she does she has to be a major player here. 4.55 Khateeb 7/2 sj bog 10 pts This one was a little bit inconsistent last season but on his day showed a lot of talent and suggested a contest like this was within his grasp. For example his fourth at asc in a listed race was a fine effort considering it was a slowly run contest that didn’t necessarily favour hold up horses like he was that day. After that ran really poorly but bounced back with a decent effort behind drumfire who is back today and has run well since so is very much respected. However I think khateeb back as a 4 yr old is still very much a horse who could have a fair bit more left to show and he may show it here.

Re: Lingfield - 9/5/09 2:10 Lingfield: Greensward 2pts e/w 5/1 Bet365 (Bog) Laudatory will be the hot favourite especially after an impressive win first time out and her maiden form being enhanced by the 1000 guineas winner. However, must just be a question over whether will translate form to turf. So Greesward looks a rock solid each way bet. Very useful form at two and went close in a nursery. Brian Meehan in good form. 2:40 Lingfield: July Jasmine 4pts win 7/2 Paddypower (Bog) Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore team up here. July Jasmine was relatively easy to back on her debut but the form looks pretty solid. With her entries, every chance will improve for better ground here and step up in trip. Has plenty of scope.
