I just wonder if we can put together some knowledge base and observations before and during the tournament - it is covered by Eurosport I believe.

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 Hi Tulenos! Remember me from last seasons tournament in France! I had some success last year doing correct scores for the favoured team & if i can recall there werent many games where the favoured team scored 3 or more. I will try & scout the internet for some info but as was the case last year there wasnt much to go on except the bookies prices & watching the early games for form. Let me know if you find any info & i will do the same. Good Luck! :ok

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 Hi mate - yeah, it seems it's always just the two of us who follow these tourneys. Well, there is quite a lot of info on the uefa.com site, but hadly any really up-to-date. Spain coming here to defend the title again - it was the only country able to defend it in the history of the championship (they would logically be the first to retain the title second time around). The tourney is played in Germany and according to the site the final is already almost sold out. So expect the German side to do well (as they do in all categories on the international level, btw.

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 One more thing - for some reason, most of the games in the group stages are played in the morning (see above), one of them is always televised, and there is always one in the afternoon - televised too.

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 Didn't see the England match, but I know England needed to come back from being one down. Germany were convincing and with them being at home I feel they will go for a win to secure promotion to later stages. Spain v France - Spain absolutely bossed the match v Italy but lacked the finishing touch - whether 11/10 is value is open to discussion.

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 The last games in this group are quite decisive. The young Swiss are definately the surprise of Championship with a Draw against France and a win over Italy. If the draw today they will qualify to the semifinals. Spain were the favorite for winning the title but their performance is far from convincing - two draws 0-0 against Italy and France. So their only option is a win if they want to go through. I think the quality of Spain should be a decisive factor and I will go for Spain ML @ 1.9 4/10. The game between Germany and Netherlands starts after the games in group A and it will be very interesting if both Germany and Netherlands (who have already qualified) decide to loose the game so that they meet the second from group A :loon

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 one interesting info regarding Spain: Spain, aiming for a third straight title, have been held 0-0 by Italy and France despite dominating both games and coach Ginés Meléndez has lost playmaker Iker Muniain to a groin strain... from uefa.com

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 Holland have not already qualified, although the English chance is a slim one as they need to win by a big enough maqrgin to overturn the goal difference of Holland. Also - there is the third spot in the group which is also very important as first three in each group qualify for the WC in autumn.

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 Germany U17 vs Italy U17 Well i picked Germany out last night at 4/5 but the time i got into town Lads / Powers were both going 8/11 so i've took that and it's still available but as low as 4/7 at bet365! Backed them againt the English and they duely obliged. Left the Dutch game as didn't know if they would leave out players due to already being qualified but no they went out and beat a talented Dutch team 2-0 and look odds-on to take this trophy altogether! The Germans absolutely demolished their groupees; vs Turkey 3-1 vs England 4-0 vs Holland 2-0 Italy scraped threw in 2nd by beating France on the last game of the groups; vs Spain 0-0 vs Switzerland 1-3 vs France 2-1 The Dutch (2nd in Germany's group) played the Swiss (top of Italy's group) and won 2-1 and baring in mind that Switzerland stuffed the Italian's and the Dutch were rolled over by Germany this looks an absolute steal at 8/11! Verdict : Germany U17 8/11 Stake : 9/10

Re: Euro U17 Championship, starts 06/05 Inches from a third! Think i'll be backing the Germans to repeat their comfortable 2-0 win over the dutch in the group stages again in the final! Hopefully get even money, monday morning kick off! Italy just tried to contain the Germans which worked up until the very end and got a bit tired while Germany had the likes of Trinks coming on, the Dutch play attractive football which will allow Germany to play their game and should win the final too! FT 2-0 Germany :cow:clap:cow
