Punchestown 2nd May

Recommended Posts

Re: Punchestown 2nd May This year's festival draws to a close, and there are a few potentially cracking but very difficult encounters to try and figure out. I am definitely backing the horse I championed for much of last season Mourad in the 2:55, albeit at short odds (4/5 Bet365 BOG). His own form is solid with a very good performance in the Triumph, staying on nicely at the end, finishing 3rd. 2nd last run can be excused, even though he was close up 3rd, but Ruby got off and said he had ridden him in the wrong manner. Had he not done so, he would have won nicely, and in actual fact done me a favour as I got nice odds for the Triumph as a consequence. Has the beating of most of the main rivals through formlines and although Jumbo Rio is also a very good horse, his stable are not firing to anywhere near the standard that Mullins/Walsh are producing. A horse worth staying on the right side of next season, particularly at Cheltenham IMO.
