5.25 EPSOM - PRIDE OF KINGS (1m 114y CLASS 5 - GOOD) Dettori is the best jockey by far at the track boasting a 23% win strike rate & 50% place strike rate. Any horse he has with the required pace seems to get the most out of the track & this one represents his best chance for me on the day. Likely to be up with the pace, the horse might just have enough early pace to get to the front & will have to try to stay there. It appeared to show those qualities when winning on fast ground at Catterick. It then finished 3rd on its last run back at that track but 8lb higher than its win. Starts the season on the same mark 74 as its last run & with Johnston also hitting a bit of form, we could get a run at a nice price. Drawn in 17 which is a tad wide but its pace will get it into the race early & freewheel down tattenham corner. Seems to be around 8.4 on Betfair at the moment but i would hope to get 10's if possible. I will advise what price i get but this will after the race as not around to post tomorrow. Re: Best Bet of the Day 22nd April 2.30 Epsom Cake is my choice for this one. Hannon likes to enter this horse into races that it just won't win. This race however there's a good chance for cake. It's last 3 runs were against much better quality and although the final result wasn't great the run was still admirable, one of them coming 2nd and the other 2 all close races with too little in it to turn this horse down. Last time there was a similar race was at goodwood, cake was higher up in the ranks and weights and came 3rd. This time it's 5lb lower than that race but again against some better runners. Does better on firmer ground and today is just good but I don't see why it can't run a good race. Hughes on top who works well with Hannon, who has ridden this horse 5 times winning once and placing once. The other times were in much harder races. Currently going on Betfair[url=http://betfair.com] at 24 which is a remarkably high price. I avoided this one 4 days ago because of the soft ground and the stiffness of the competition and both of those aren't a factor in this race. 0.5pt EW
