Re: AFL Round 4; BRISBANE vs COLLINGWOOD Last week Brisbane showed what they could do with a 4 quarter performance and beat Sydney at their own game in the wet. Since R1 2008 they are currently 10/13 at the GABBA and they should make it 11/14. SYDNEY vs CARLTON The Swans underdogs at home is a rare thing these days but against the world-beaters Carlton? Geelong, Hawks, Bulldogs definitely but not Carlton. Don't think the Swans are finished as a top 8 prospect just yet as they are a hardened professional team. They will do the job they usually do at the SCG and I think the Carlton bubble will burst even further. Swans have won their last 11 against the Blues and even though the Blues interstate record last year was exemplary: WCE (big win), PA (narrow Win), ADE (narrow loss), BRIS (narrow win), I think beating the Swans at the SCG is a greater task than all those. I'm going straight out with the Swans at the ridiculous price of $2.20. HAWTHORN vs PORT ADELAIDE Port may keep it close but hard to gauge where they are after playing mediocre opposition. Injury-hit Hawks to win. ST KILDA vs FREMANTLE Freo have only had 6 days break after a home game in the heat. After seeing WCE go thru almost the same process last Sat the Saints will have a field day here (or night even) at Etihad. On top of that, Harvey will keep enforcing the youth policy. This is a huge mis-match and I expect another ugly result for Freo. I'll take the Saints at (-40.5) $1.91. ADELAIDE vs GEELONG $1.33 Geelong is quite generous considering it is only a younger, less experienced Adelaide at AAMI. Geelong while a little vulnerable and not in top gear yet have a lot of depth and class and shouldn't be troubled here. Will be happy to take them at (-21.5pts) $1.91. NORTH MELBOURNE vs ESSENDON Hard to say which way this game will go. I'm not getting carried away with the Bombers emotional win over Carlton and there is a big chance of a letdown here even with players coming back in. I'm expecting a Daniel Wells BOG performance as a response to his critics. That combined with the Chicken-Gate distraction hopefully out of the way should help Nth's cause. I think Nth will win but not with conviction. RICHMOND vs MELBOURNE Don't like backing ordinary teams but Richmond should bounce back after a rough, tough start and the media savaging they've received. They've won the last 3 against Melbourne from 2007+ with margins of 49, 22 and 80. I will take them at (-20.5) $1.91. WEST COAST vs WESTERN BULLDOGS Hard to have WCE after their miserable performance last week. Against a lesser opponent I would've taken them at the line at home but the Bulldogs even after a 6-day break will get the job done. I think the $1.48 atm on offer for the Doggies is a little generous but I will pass.
