Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Round 9 & Co-Operative Championships Round 5 Really surprised to see Sheffield +14 at Featherstone. Yes, Sheffield lost at home on Sky Thursday evening which was a poor result and surprising but if Sheffield had won, I'm sure the line would be more +8/10. Featherstone on the other hand had a good win up at Gateshead 23-2 in terrible conditions by all accounts. Despite this, I'm taking the +14 on offer. Firstly, Sheffield have had an extra 24 hours to rest and prepare for this game which over the Easter period can't be ignored whilst Rovers had a relatively long trip to Gateshead on the Friday evening. I fully expect Mark Aston to have fired up his charges for this game after losing against Doncaster and he always fires teams up to play at his former club as there is not much loved lost between Aston and Fev. Also, this is Fev's home record against Sheffield 2000 Div 1* 45 13 W 2001 Div 1* 12 15 L 2002 Div 1* 28 18 W 2003 NC 30 12 W 2004 2005 2006 Div 2* 30 56 L 2006 NC 18 38 L 2007 NC 54 22 W 2008 Div 1 16 25 L Now, removing the National Rail cup (NC games) fixtures where Sheffield experiment with their side it doesn't make good reading for Fev particularly in the last 3 years losing 2 home league games. Sheffield also have a good record against us at the Don Valley. Sheffield +14 is my bet for East Monday with a small saver on the handicap draw coming in.
