Pocket pairs ALWAYS ahead of overcards?

Just been reading an article from here: http://www.pokerhelper.com/articles/the-so-called-coin-flip/ In it, John Vorhaus, the writer, states:

In fact, the pocket pair, no matter which pocket pair, is always at least a 52-48% favorite over any two overcards.
I've had debates and arguments about this scenario loads of times and so to prove once and for all I got the exact odds from my poker odds calculator. I've always suggested that a low pocket pair is not ahead of suited connectors and this is what my odds calculator proved: :3c: :3s: (45.93%) v :7h: :8h: (52.14%)...... so is this article wrong or is my poker odds calculator incorrect? :unsure Also, another debate I've just had this evening is that just because a hand is ahead pre-flop does not make it favourite to actually win the hand? :unsure Surely if its ahead then it's favourite? However, the guy claims that AK v a pocket pair wins more times than it loses? that isn't right is it?

Re: Pocket pairs ALWAYS ahead of overcards? If you are 50.000001% to win the hand pre flop then you are always favourite to win the hand - regardless of what your specific cards are :unsure AK (suited or unsuited) against any pocket pair (including AA and KK) is 43.455% v 56.545%. They are the odds to win. The Pocket Pair wins more than the AK - to argue otherwise would be the same as arguing that 2 plus 2 does not equal 4 :unsure
