Spooner
15:30 - Caroles Legacy 10pts to place @ 11/5 Bet365 Followed this horse throughout the season and although slightly disappointing at Cheltenham I will take her to bounce back here, alot of horses do not take to Cheltenham, she is a c&d winner Newbury, Felix De Giles calims 3 and she looks a good bet to place. Aykay1
Re: Newbury 21/3 250 Newbury – Rate of Knots 5pts ew @ 13/2 skybet (NAP)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> After some good runs over hurdles last year, Rate of Knots has taken to fences well, making a good chasing debut finishing 3rd and beaten 4 lengths behind winner Shatabdi, who was rated 20 lb's better over hurdles and runner up Aimigayle, who is a subsequent winner. She followed up in 2 weaker races, winning easily in both, beating 2 subsequent winners. She looks unexposed over fences - after only 3 runs and at 6 years old, you would expect her to have more improvement in her. An OR of 119 looks fair and I think puts her in a position to reverse form with Aimigayle, especially with a capable 5lb claimer on board. Ping Pong Sivola is the obvious danger but is up 9lb’s for a tough race at the Cheltenham Festival

It ran too bad to be true that day but had to lump round top weight on soft ground. Todays weight of 10st 11lb should ensure the horse stays the 3m & on ground it normally shows its best form on. At 3m+ its form on Good ground or better is 1-3-2-2-2-2-8-3. At this price looks a great EW bet. SportHorse RacingEvent2.50 NewburySelectionJAUNTY FLIGHTStrength2pts win DateSat 21st MarchBookmaker/Price7/2 Paddy PowerReasoningThe selection won the mares nov hurdle on the card last year with Katess back in 6th. Those 2 horses meet again with Jaunty Flight only 2lb higher than its rival. I rate the difference much more than that as it is now 2 from 2 at this track importantly winning a novice chase here in January. Regular Jockey Ollie Greenall is out injured but the more than capable Dominic Elsworth takes the ride. Its best form is on the softer side of good but has also ran well on the faster surface. Ping Pong Sivola is the one to beat but with its hard race at Cheltenham only 9 days ago, that puts me off. Sport Horse Racing Event 3.30 Newbury Selection RAVELLO BAY Strength 2pts win Date Sat 21st March Bookmaker/Price 3/1 Sporting bet Reasoning I always thought this horse would end up winning a decent enough race. It was up against it last time out over a shorter distance than ideal when 3rd at Sandown. Today reappears over 21f having won over the distance at Huntingdon on its penultimate start. Geraghty rides which is a plus & the ground is perfect today.
Aykay1
Re: Newbury 21/3 Definitely joining you on Lyes Green Bowles, good spot. The 8th was in a much better race than todays when he was an unfancied 25/1 shot so can probably be ignored in the context of todays race :ok

Stevet1859
Re: Newbury 21/3 2:20 Newbury: Theatre Dance 1pt e/w 13/2 Bet365 (Bog) Theatre Dance has been progressing nicely, third second (ahead of Russian Trigger) and winning last time out at Chepstow. As this is his first venture in to handicaps and has been running in smaller fields I'm being fairly cautious with just a point each way. However David Arbuthnot has been in great form over the past two weeks, and although Timmy Murphy does not ride that often for him, he has two wins from five rides. Stevet1859
Re: Newbury 21/3 2:50 Newbury: Katees 2pts e/w 10/1 Paddy Power Katees has not been seen out for 53 days but won first time out this season so it may be the plan to keep her fresh. Her second to Consigliere reads well as he went on to win again at Ascot. Ground will be ok, and while Alan King is not firing them in from all angles - his horses are still running pretty well. WoodyTHFC
Re: Newbury 21/3 1.45 Psi 2.87 bluesq 15 pts Been waiting for this one in a handicap. Has shown glimpses of ability for his canny trainer in three hurdle runs. First time he was behind in some race with the TH front two and he just plugged on into fifth. Then he was involved in another hot race behind RDM and SA who both have boosted the form countless times since. His final run to get his handicap mark was when plugging on once again in another hot race behind torpichen and subsequent graded win trenchant. His style of running suggests the extended trip should suit today and the first time blinkers could just spark him up a bit further. This looks a realistic winning opportunity. 3.30 Argento Luna 6.5 bluesq 7.5 pts e.w Backed this a few times and with some success. Lto she won narrowly in the end but still travelled and seemed to look the best horse in that race by some way for me. She perhaps didn’t pick up quite as she looked like she would and that is a style she has shown a few times. However she still got the job done after a couple of seconds when perhaps if not given as much to do especially three starts back now she may have won. Her form lto is good with the next two winning and even though the second re opposes on better terms today for on paper a narrow defeat, I get the impression AL may be saving a bit for herself still and could uphold that form. 4.05 Riverside Theatre 1.57 spo 15 pts Backed this last time and was an easy and an impressive winner. Travelled well and picked up to put aside a 133 rival easily in truth. That confirmed the promise of his first run over hurdles when he was second behind supreme fourth copper bleu and to some degree some good bumper runs including one behind DH and a victory this season at asc. Has a penalty here cut could well defy it.
billy the punter
Re: Newbury 21/3 Psi drifted from 7/4 to 11/4 and was massive on betfair (2.8 to 4.6). Trading at 9/2 as soon as they went in-running, after half a furlong basically. Trying for it's life obviously. :\
Tedthewolf
Re: Newbury 21/3 2.20 2 Win bets for me on KING HARALD front runner who could be hard to peg back and ANTONIUS CAESAR who often flatters to deceive.

alexmac
Re: Newbury 21/3 Nice tipping guys. I was there today and I must say, I didnt back a single winner. Thought it was a tough day to find winners to be honest. Had I still been backing my jumps horses to follow I would have had Argento Luna @ 4/1, but I have stopped that thread now in order to start studying for the flat season :( I honestly think that Newbury is one of, if not the, hardest track to find winners. And that is a bit of a problem for me seeing as I am a member there :(

That straight is one of the toughest in racing IMO, horses get very tired & dont get home. Again, course specialists are perhaps the horses to follow also. Hope you had a good day mate otherwise. alexmac
Re: Newbury 21/3 Good tip that Bowles. Going to have to have a look at that for next season.... Thats the jumps over for Newbury now. Next meeting is the on the Flat. Yeah, had a good day thanks. Was in a Private Box on the 3rd floor of the Berkshire stand which was awesome, cracking view from up there... fintron
Re: Newbury 21/3 That 2.20 was an interesting little race, I had Strawberry as one of my savers, leading until blundering at the last and giving the upper hand to Lyes Green. Who knows what could have happened on the run in had she jumped that cleanly as you couldn't split either. Well done with Lyes Green though lads, a cracking winner at the price :clap
