Because of this I do all my studying and betting in the evenings and use VCbet.com as they send free txt alerts when bet settled which is nice to know when i am at work. But i find vcbet doesnt always have the best prices does any other bookies have such service for free? Thanx Chris

I don't know what network you are on Chris but I am on Orange and on their mobile site there is a betting application called 'Bet2go' (you can google it for more info) which is like a mini oddschecker for your phone, comparing prices for Ladbrokes, VC Bet, Sporting Bet, Skybet and Paddypower, possible some others that I can't remember. You can bet singles through your phone for stakes £1 upwards. You store your login details for each account within the application then just enter a self-created password whenever you want to bet to save time. I know this doesn't really answer your original question - do other sites give you text alerts when a bet is settled - but I'm sure you could find that out on each site and the application does enable you to do a bit of value hunting 'on the go' rather than just taking the price with one bookie. I often use to even if I am not betting, just to see how the markets are moving, and it can be a lifesaver if you are dragged out shopping in some tiny little town and there is no bookie in sight!!!!
