Re: Layers

All you layers out there, Palaceman, Zero, Xcode and there are probably others. I get the fact that you like and prefer to lay horses, but just a question of interest, why is this your preferred way of betting and do you ever back horses to win?
I don't really fit into the category as I back before I lay, but I do go through stints of laying. Put it this way, it's much easier to pick a loser than it is to pick a winner. When I started, I laid to win a tenner, but my liabilty was higher. I picked horses that were 10/1 - 12/1 ish and that were on the drifting. My first 33 lays were all successful. I then laid a winner that lost me 120, but i was 210 up. Another reason that it's enjoyable is that unlike with backing, alot of the time you know a fair way out that a horse is going to lose, whereas it's generally nailbiting if you pick a winner. Laying a 12/1 shot and seeing it going back through the pack 5f from home with no chance of winning is just as satisfying as picking a winner.
