Golden rules

Hi all this is my first post an I gotta say great forum, I just thought Im sure we've all had some fairly expensive lessons over the years I know I have, so it would be good to have a thread with everyones golden rules and nuggets of wisdom I'll kick off, I hope this catches on

  • Dont look and look for reasons to get the favourite beat if its a worthy favourite get stuck in
  • If a horse is a maiden after 15 or more starts and its goin off at skinny odds cause "this will be the day" I'd rather be a layer than a player
  • Questioning your methods is just as important on winning streaks as on losing ones
  • (A contraversional one but my opinion) Jockey factor way overrated in in flat racing
  • 80% of horses couldnt care less if they win or lose

That'll do to get the ball rolling hopefully, it might be a good learning experience

Re: Golden rules :welcometo PL :ok. One for me is never get of the path and bet for bets sake, always stick to your bets and never add some in because your well up for the day/week just to lose some hard earned every £ adds up over a year on small silly bets.
