14:50 - Carrickboy I made Carrickboy my best bet of the day LTO but he slipped up after about 5 seconds and unseated his rider, Looks to me that he should be good enough for this race. Sam Thomas is booked to ride and im hoping he at least gets round this time, If he does he will be hard to beat. @ 7/4 Bet365 (bog)

Re: Taunton 5/2 1.50 King Caine @ 3.25 Paul Nicholls has an excellent record at Taunton, and King Caine represents the Champion trainer here. King Caine seems a very difficult horse to win with, but he has run some good races in defeat, most of them in races much much better than this. Today he is dropped to a claimer, and I expect it will be to try and get a win into him. His only win to date came on heavy going, so that will prove no problem. He is much better than the rest of these, its just a case of whether he puts it all in. At 3.25, he is well worth the risk IMO. 2.20 Cold Mountain EW @ 25/1 Cold Mountain is a horse I followed a lot over hurdles, and he rarely ran a bad race. He is a consistent sort, who often just seems to find one or two too good. However, I feel he has got to be worth a punt today at huge odds. On his Chasing debut last time out, he was far from disgraced and actually ran on quite nicely at the death. This step up in trip will suit, and there is no way he should be 25/1. He ran some really nice races in better contests over hurdles, and if he jumps well enough today, he will be in the mix yet again.
