Cant see much opposing Optimus Maximus in this, amore mio chased home Zaynar last time out & would be the one for the forecast. 2.05

Celestial Halo looks to have a good opportunity to chalk up a 1st win of the season after winning last years Triumph. At ascot last time out, braveley tried to hold off Binocular last time & a similar performance should be enough. Afsoun won this last year but the horses still remains a difficult ride & the 4lb CH gets will be key. I think Osana might need the run & can go over a longer trip, it will be staying on at the end & i think one for the f/c. 2.35

Alan King has always struggled with his chasers here, Araldur's win last time was the 1st in about 25 chases for King. That horse earnt an excellent rating of 152 on that day beating Free World a nk. King has always said this horse is crying out for a longer trip so we will see today. Looks like Pressgang cant win on the book as Herecomesthetruth & Buck The Legend both should beat again at these weights. Massinis Maguire is the value price here & gets this trip ideally rather thean 3m recent run at kempton. 3.10

I personally think Ballydub would have beaten big bucks at Cheltenham last time out but for its fall when going very well, that form would give it a great chance today. Lightweight Hows Business could well fill a place at a decent price. 3.45

Dont like the race but a tentative selection is New Little Bric from Nicholls stable if its able to recapture its form of old. Most of these have quirks. Cant Buy Time is running off such a lightweight & has a claimer on board also, looks a good bet for a place. 4.20

I would love to see Killaghy Castle return to the winners enclosure after 659 days off the track. Nick Gifford does well here & not a bet for me, just a watching race.

Re: Sandown 31/01 2.35 Aldraur 5/2 spo 15 pts Was impressed by this one lto, indeed was impressed by its easy win before that too but this battling horse put up avery good performance against free world. The time of the race was pretty quick and he came back from a long way back to win with the pair a long long way clear. The way he came back that day showed he has lots of stamina and hence Im not concerned by the move up in trip, it could well be an advantage. He also stays on a right handed track which judging by the way he jumped lto is no bad thing and the class act of this race could well take advantage from the bottom of the weights. 3.10 Ballydub 5/1 var bog 7.5 pts e.w A real improver over hurdles and I dont think has finished either. Strung to my attention when coming second behind punchestowns and whilst beaten by a horse given him a stone, he still ran very well that day and showed that he was well treated off his mark that day. He showed that afterwards too with an easy win at newb. and went to chelt. lto with a good chance. However lto he fell when still in major contention and travelling pretty well I thought, indeed like a possible winner that day and thats despite Big Bucks being in the field that day and that one won a grade race last week. So possibly he isnt finished with yet and he might take advantage still today even though his mark is now in the 140s.

Re: Sandown 31/01 Woody, the only problem with Ballydub is that this race tends to go to horses with a lower weight, i make it a great value bet at 5/1 today as to go EW, you still make money as you will get 5/4. Personally think it will go very close but will a lightweight just have enough to beat it up that gruelling last final stretch? GL:ok

Re: Sandown 31/01 ARALDUR 2.35 Sandown. 2 points win NAP. I think the trip and ground will suit and he's open to finding further improvement. Has a few live dangers, but I just get the feeling that he can get the race run to suit and put them all to the sword with that little more improvement.

Re: Sandown 31/01 SANDOWN 2:35 Massini's Maguire Has proven himself in Graded event. Most experienced of all runners in Grade races too. 222U53142 is his form in Graded races. All but the last are over hurdles. Has a win and second from two chase runs. Cheltenham form is 1U31 and I really like that with this being a Novices' race. I think his experience against tougher opponents will get him take this event. 10pts win @ 5-1 Ladbrokes

capped off a good day for me, about 20L was the total, easy peasy :clap well done to the winners on here, Massinis Maguire would have been a great winner & i thought it had won at the line but the Nicholls horse held on in the photo.
