Re: Catterick Fri 30th Jan 3.10 Basically make the race between the 1st 3 in the betting with Be Brief & Stagecoach pearl both trained by Mrs S J Smith who also comes out as top trainer at this track. Be Brief has finished 3rd 3 times this season over 2m, today it goes over 2m 3f, each time the horse has been leading only to fail to get home, the races were reasonable & if the step up in trip helps, could go close but not playing at around 7/4 fav. Her other horse Stagcoach pearl is more interesting after 2 spins round this track including a win over the minimum distance again. its price around 7/2 is more like it but the one i like is the top weight Palm reader from Donald McCain's stable, it won here LTO over this trip beating peppertree lane by 4L. It ran a bit green that day & can improve again at the same trip. It has to give 6lb to its rivals today but going on peppertree lane's handicap rating of 113, i think this horse could be rated around the 120 mark in future races.
