Re: Rugby - Europeen Challenge (15.16.17 Jan) Montpellier v Northampton Saints Venue: Stade Yves du Manoir Date: Thursday, 15 January Kick-off: 20:45 (19:45 GMT) Referee: Peter Allan (Scotland) Touch judges: Rob Dickson (Scotland), John Ferns (Scotland) Television match official: Iain Heard (Scotland) Preview : Northampton, who have taken a maximum five points from all four of their matches, have an unassailable 12-points lead in Pool Two and are through to the last eight with two matches to spare. But Saints Director of Rugby Jim Mallinder insists that his team are travelling to Montpellier with every intention of winning Thursday evening's Round Five European Challenge Cup match. The Saints may have already qualified for the quarter-finals but have yet to guarantee a home tie. Furthermore they will be facing a Montpellier side who has yet to lose at home in this season's Challenge Cup and Mallinder says that nothing is being taken for granted. "The final two rounds of pool matches are vital for us as we still need wins to secure a home quarter final," he said. "There has been a quick turnaround after the game against Leicester and we have obviously had to look after everyone who played on Saturday. But preparation has been very thorough and we are looking forward to travelling to Montpellier. "It is a club that has great backing off the field, a superb stadium and are one of the most ambitious clubs in the Top 14. "They also still have chances of making the knock out stages of the competition, which will make tomorrow night's game extremely tough for us. "French clubs are always difficult to play on their home ground and we are ready for a match full of commitment from both teams." Meanwhile Montpellier, who are struggling after two heavy defeats in the Top 14 and the resignation of their President, have rested some of their top players. Loose forward Fulgence Ouedraogo and scrum-half Justin Marshall are not in the squad. French internationals Louis Picamoles, François Trinh-Duc and Julien Tomas will however put up a fight for the home side. Montpellier: 15 Jean-Mathieu Alcalde, 14 Jacques Boussuge, 13 Frikkie Welsh, 12 Sylvain Mirande, 11 Sébastien Kuzbik, 10 François Trinh-Duc, 9 Julien Tomas, 8 Jérome Vallée, 7 Louis Picamoles, 6 Vassili Bost, 5 Michel Macurdy, 4 Gonçalo Uva, 3 Bruce Douglas, 2 Fabien Rofes, 1 Pietman Van Niekerk. Replacements: 16 Joan Caudullo, 17 Philémon Toleafoa, 18 Benjamin Goze, 19 Didier Chouchan, 20 Adrien Tomas, 21 Rickus Lubbe, 22 Grant Rees. Northampton Saints: 15 Bruce Reihana ©, 14 Chris Ashton, 13 Jon Clarke, 12 Chris Mayor, 11 Paul Diggin, 10 Stephen Myler, 9 Ben Foden, 8 Mark Hopley, 7 Scott Gray, 6 Mark Easter, 5 Juandre Kruger, 4 Christian Day, 3 Barry Stewart, 2 Dylan Hartley, 1 Soane Tonga'uiha. Replacements: 16 Paul Shields, 17 Tom Smith, 18 Ignacio Fernandez Lobbe, 19 Courtney Lawes, 20 Lee Dickson, 21 Carlos Spencer, 22 Sean Lamont. After 2 big loose in Top14:

Montpellier play Northampton with a lot of turnover in starting15.Only Trinhduc and Picamoles are good player other one are bench player or reserv player.Actually 2nd of pool Montpellier got no chance to qualify (need bonus win at home vs North and at Bristol :tongue2).Northampton got a chance tonight if win to secure their 1st place and play quarter final at home .Coach of Northampton respect this Montpellier team and chose to select their best squad with only 2-3 change after their win vs Tigers last week .1st leg match Northampton win 51-3 and montpellier play in defence all the match with 2 red card.Tonight i think only stadium change and result could be the same. Northampton -7.5 @ 1.80 bet365 8/10 Northampton over 2.5 try @ 1.80 ladbrokes 7/10 gl all :hope
