I remember thinking a call there from a very comfortable stack was trouble and I have folded decent hands before because of it. I think I should have folded this hand. There is no reason at all for player4 to be getting involved, and once he does put in $200 will he be scared by my extra $490? If he folds preflop its and easy shove but his action completely changes it.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently $270) Played bad again today. My heads not in it at the moment with exams plus I've got a job interview and Phd interview coming up so I'm going to have a couple of days break and go back to $2.50. I'm not really rolled for $5 and loosing $30 was more than 10% of my bankroll. I'll play 6 man and coolers at $2.50 until I get up to $500. Folded AA today :loon acespreflop.jpg

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently $270) Ok, I know I said I wasn't playing again for a few days but I was so bored with revision I fired up a cash game. Did ok, then took a beat and left $2.25 up. Then spotted a couple of bad players on signed up to a coolers so I played a few of them too. I'll post all the games up later, really can't be bothered at the moment. Bankroll has cracked the $280 mark for the first time and now stands at $280.25

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently $280.25) I'm tilting very easily at the moment. I played 11 $5 coolers and cashed in the first 7 with little trouble, then fired up the last 4 and got beat after beat after beat. I was steaming. Anyway, did what I always do at times like this and fired up a $1/2 heads up table against some Norwegian guy. Luckily he wasn't brilliant and I ended $260 up after some solid play by me and some bad play by him. He ended up leaving although I had settled in for a long session. I might put one particularly interesting hand up later but it will be in screen shots as I don't like typing out the history.

I'll play 4 more games later to get up to 100 and then have a look at how I'm doing over all. This is a screenshot incase anyone is doubting the cash game stuff. 55045.jpg

Definately not playing well enough. Since I lost my 11 game winning streak I have cashed in only 22 out of 47 games! Losing $38.50 in the process. 100games.jpg After todays massive cash win I'm not going to use bankroll as the marker to move up, rather results in sets of 100. If I get 60%+ in two running sets of 100 I'll move up. If I get two losing sets in a row I will move back down. Any ITM of 55-60% means I stay at that level. The second set starts tonight.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently $545.95) 5 games this morning. Cashed in 3 so a little bit of consistency has crept into my results. Don't think there was much I could do about the 2 games I lost, played tight, didn't get any cards and then ran into hands when I went all in against the blinds.

$5 Set 2 Profit: ($1.50) ROI: 0% ITM: 54.54% Ah coolers, why am I making them so difficult? I think I'd be better going back to 6 max games where I actually want to gamble. The rubbish that people called me with today was unreal. Yes I want these idiots at my table but not if they keep calling with queen high and I am always behind. Won my last game with a wonderful suckout that made me smile. One problem is playing when I'm bored, not when I want to play. I'll finish this set of coolers and see how it goes. I do think they could be a profitable game but I would like my luck to change just a little.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently $536.95) Did it again. I think the heads up games are pretty soft but if I keep doing this I'm going to be busto. Definately, absoultely not playing now until after my exam on Monday. If anyone sees me playing take a screenshot, stick it up in the chat and I will pay you $50!!! 65120.jpg

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently $651.20) I've downloaded Pokerkings and have emailed support to make sure I get the 300 euro deposit bonus plus the 30% rakeback. If all goes well I'll move my funds over the weekend. I'll be going from $-> £-> E which isn't ideal but I think I'll be depositing 500 euros.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently $651.20) Sorted out Pokerkings, withdrew all my pacific money, $655.20 after cashing in $4 worth of FPPs. Figured its worth £470 so I deposited that into Pokerkings which gives me a new bankroll of €488.42. I've signed up for rakeback through an affiliate and I also have a €400 deposit bonus that will be tough to clear but it is released in €5 increments for every €25 raked or 50 games of €5 coolers which doesn't sound to bad. I'm going to be playing some low stakes cash as well so we'll see how it goes.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently $651.20) Played my first 4 games on Boss. I think the structure is better than Pacific with bigger stacks and longer blinds although the blinds go up in bigger steps. There was definately a bit more room and I probably had another round in the game I lost but I had a nice hand short stacked and I think the call was a little questionable, especially as I had the player pegged as being tight. Can't resize the windows so it a little strange playing 4 tables but I'll get used to it quickly enough.

I believe resizable tables with Boss will be with us soon :ok (there are mini tables' date=' but they're horrible!)[/quote'] Sounds good. It hasn't been a major problem yet but it is preventing me from giving 5 tables a bash. I do like the odds that come up when people are all in. Played 5 games today and cashed in 3.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently €454.14) I'm not playing well at the minute. This is not helped by playing a long session where I get worse and worse. I'm going to play no more than 5 games in a session and play a bit more cash.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently €490.28) Played 4 games of €0.05/0.10 cash for about an hour and won about €8. I've finally managed to download the latest beta version of PT3 after using Firefox. Hopefully I can get all the stuff working and I'll be able to start analysing my game.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! (Bankroll currently €481.55) Cash didn't go very well. Lost a fair amount, not sure of how much right now but I really had to fight the urge to move up and put everything on one table. I'm pretty pleased that I didn't. I've decided to withdraw €227.57 to leave me with €200 to play with. This is short for the stakes I will be playing but I think with some discipline I will be ok. I'm going to play 2 tables at a time and just play ABC because I am making some stupid plays. I suppose the real measure of my challenge should be the amount I withdraw and not my bankroll. I'll think about how I'm going to withdraw money from now. Bankroll: €200 Withdrawn: $227.57 Goal: 1.98% However I look at this I am now playing with "free" money. No matter what happens I have withdrawn almost 5 times my original deposit.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! 1.98% complete Rules I have had a think about some basic rules to my bankroll management. These are subject to change as the levels increase, I will try and outline my thoughts below. 1. The minimum about of roll to move up level is 30 buyins. So if I want to play €0.10/0.20 I need €600. Some articles I have read say 20 is ok but I think a bit of an extra cushion is needed. After €0.5/1 I may up the minimum to about 50 buyins. 2. I will move down level if I drop to 20 buyins. If I do the increase minimum buyins to 50 for the higher levels then I will move back down if I drop to 35 buyins. 3. If I lose 2 buyins in a session for what ever reason then I will stop the session. This will stop me kidding myself that I am running unlucky and playing well and therefore losing more. I hope it will also minimise the chance of tilt. 4. Sessions will be not more than 90 minutes and there will be a good break between any sessions on the same day. 5. At the end of each month hopefully I will be in profit and I will take out a percentage of that profit each month based on the following criteria: i) No profit; take nothing out ii) Profit of 0-5 buyins; take nothing out iii) Profit of 5-10 buyins; take 20% iv) Profit of 10-20 buyins; take 30% v) Profit of 20+ buyins; take 50% Example If I win $300 at $10NL then First $50 take nothing $50-$100 take 20%, in this case $10 $100-$200 take 30% in this case $30 $200+ take 50% in this case $50 This means that I would take $90 from my $300 and the $210 left over would stay in my bankroll. This will come into effect at the end of February.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! 1.98% complete Played a couple of sessions so far today and made about €18.50 which brings me back into profit cash wise so far on Boss. I'm trying to play a tight game but with only 5 people at the table its pretty difficult to fold KT in the cutoff and because I'm trying to not open limp I am tending to raise a lot. I think this is ok if I plan on playing short sharp sessions but after a while I find my opponents start playing back at me or calling with weaker hands and then calling any continuation bet I might make. I have been thinking about putting a bit of the money I withdrew into Pacific and playing some more 6 man games. I was doing pretty well and I think it might be good to play something other than cash. Does anyone know of any sites that have 6man tables that pay the top 3? I'm all for grabbing deposit bonus' and possible rakeback to get me to my target quicker.

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! 1.98% complete Played a few more sessions over the last 2 days. I'm getting into a pattern of winning pretty big or losing pretty big. When I play TAG this level is so easy to beat, players fall over themselves to give you there chips. My problem is if I get a bad beat or a cooler then I tend to turn into one of the rubbish players that donk off their chips. On the plus side I have been dealt AA 15 times and won 100% of the time :eek I've also been dealt 72o 43 times! I've cleared €10 of my deposit bonus and I think I've paid about €60 in rake. Don't think I'll make €100 to be eligible for rakeback but I can't see it being a problem from next month. Bankroll: €230.03

Re: Tomahawk's Poker Challenge: $50 to a house! 1.98% complete Just checked my bank and my withdrawal has come through. I will keep track of my withdrawals in £'s, if I play on more than 1 site then different currencies may be used so I'll update it once the money has hit my bank account and I know the actual amount in £'s. If I do play on another site then I will try and move money from Boss, I don't really want to be depositing money I have banked. So with that Withdrawn: £212.28 Goal: 2.12%
