Re: Cricket: New Zealand vs West Indies Twenty20 Internationals & ODI Series I'm going with just one for the 1st twenty20. 10pts New Zealand to win 1st Twenty20 5/6 Stan James New Zealand are a much stronger one day side than they are a test side with the likes of Scott Styris, Jacob Oram and Tim Southee all returning to the side for this game. West Indies will make a couple of changes with Kieron Pollard and Carlton Baugh coming into the side. I'm quite surprised Andre Fletcher didn't get in the squad though after his performances in the Stanford Series. New Zealand have a powerful top order with McCullum and Ryder opening the innings and both looking in good form. Ross Taylor, Scott Styris and Jacob Oram form a very strong middle order and then there's Vettori and Mills down the order who can both clear the ropes. West Indies don't have anything like the batting depth but they do have Chris Gayle who showed last week what we can expect from him in this series. Shiv Chanderpaul is less effective in this form of the game but can still be a matchwinner as can Sarwan but in terms of batting depth they are quite light. The game could be won by New Zealand's two spinners. Both Vettori and Patel are tough to get away and can take wickets. Pace off the ball from Oram, Ryder and Styris will be effective too and if NZ don't get slaughtered by Gayle I think they'll win this 1st twenty20.
