12.10 Lingfield The ones that make some appeal at the weights are Gleaming Spirit, Magic Glade, Thoughtsofstardon and Triskaidephobia. Gleaming spirit is one of four Peter Grayson runners in this moderate contest and its hard to tell which his strongest runner is given the jockey bookings. This one won a Yarmouth handicap off 62 in the summer and he runs off 3 lb lower here. Was beaten by just a neck at Catt off 62 as recently as Nov, but last few efforts have been disappointing. Magic Glade won a handicap off 86 a few years ago but more recent wins have come in claimers. Dropping in the handicap and 2 lbs lower than last run, but a little to prove at the weights at present. Thoughtsofstardom looks to have a fantastic chance. A course and distance winner earlier in the month off 58, he runs off the same mark here as that came in an apprentices race for todays jockey. Ran well last time at Kempton, chasing home Bookiesindex Boy and another massive run expected here. Triskaedaphobia is very well handicapper but just hasn't been exploiting the generosity of the assessor lately and although he will probably pop up sometime soon off 58 he's more of a gamble than Luke Morris' runner. Verdict Thoughtsofstardom is a CD winner and runs off a tasty mark. He looks the standout pick in the race.

Re: Lingfield 14/12/08 12.40 Lingfield Claiming race here and Smokey Rider looks to have a decent chance. He's 4 lbs better off than top-rated Glamorous Spirit compared to if this were a handicap and comes into the race in hot form chasing the hat-trick. Makes his Lingfield debut but proven on polytrack and over the trip (on turf at Folk) and should go well for top AW trainer Gary Moore. Glamorous Spirit is an obvious danger so for that reason I won't be smashing on Smokey Rider, but I think the latter is the percentage call receiving weight from his rival.
