Hi
We`re probably slightly biased, maybe even a tad arrogant, or perhaps we`re just a bit thick but we believe that the Virgin Poker Festival is the most downright fun poker event out there. And the rush is about to begin to qualify for the next one. On the 4-5th April 2009 Virgin are heading to the Asper`s casino in Newcastle having held a hugely enjoyable festival there earlier this year. Take a look below at what Virgin are conjuring up for this festival and ask yourself ~ what`s not to like!? What are Virgin promising?
  • A €150 two day deep stacked poker event
  • £5,000 added to the main event prize pool
  • £1,000 worth bounties and prizes
For those that have played in a previous festival all the usual favourites will be there such as, fun value added side events, Virgin girls, a bar promotion and prizes for the Nintendo Mario Kart Wii to ensure that everyone is thoroughly entertained throughout the weekend. Players must win their seats online in order to play. Here`s how:
  • Virgin Festival Sat (€1.65 + €0.15). These run everyday at 8pm (GMT) starting on Monday 8th December. 1 in 10 players will win a seat to the Virgin Festival Final (first seat guaranteed).
  • Virgin Festival Final (€15 + €1.50). These run every Sunday at 6pm(GMT) starting on 14th December. 1 in 10 players will win a seat to the Virgin Poker Festival main event in Newcastle.
  • Festival Super Sat (€7.50 + €0.70). These rebuy tournaments will have one main event qualifier for every €150 added to the prize pot. They run every Thursday at 8.30pm (GMT).

Don`t forget you can also win an open Virgin Poker Festival seat through the Festival League for which cheap tournaments run every Monday and Tuesday. So why not get on the road to qualification next week. If you have not played on Virgin since 19th November you will notice a few changes to the product and you will need to validate your account.

All the best, Ollie The Virgin Poker team.

Re: Virgin Festival 4th-5th April / Newcastle Just a word of advice for anyone travelling up and staying over for the sky poker or virgin festivals coming up. There have been 2 big hotel closures in the last 8 weeks and rooms will be at a premium come kick off, so if you havent booked up yet, get doing so asap. The hotels that have closed are : Legacy Springfield Hotel Durham Road, Gateshead, NE9 5BT Tel: 0870 832 9948 Fax: 0870 832 9949 and The Quality Hotel in Newcastle We are sorry to inform you that the Quality Hotel Newcastle Upon Tyne and Comfort Inn Thetford are closed with immediate effect and you will be unable to book accommodation at these hotels. Both hotels were operated by The Real Hotel Group Plc under licence with Choice Hotels Europe and have been closed by BDO Stoy Hayward as a result of The Real Hotel Group Plc entering administration. All other Choice-branded hotels in the UK remain fully operational and open for business. If you would like to talk with anyone about these closures or need advice about booking alternative hotel accommodation please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 44 44 44. A number of members have used both hotels in the past and if anyone has bookings with either of them, i suggest you give them a call asap!

Re: Virgin Festival 4th-5th April / Newcastle Avon and I stayed at the Quality last time we played at Aspers - nothing special but really handy for the casino so a pity it's closed. For now have made do with booking the Travelodge although not cheap at £85 plus looks like £5 for overnight parking.
