After QLD's loss to SA in the Sheffield Shield earlier this week, they will be looking to make up for that 4 day defeat with a good one day showing. In Hopes and Watson QLD have 2 very good one-day players, who can both take wickets, keep the run rate down and importantly score runs, and score them quickly. The Redbacks on the other hand do not have any real one day impact players of note. Whilst Klinger and Ferguson are in great touch with the bat, apart from these two bats the QLD attack should contain them quite well. With QLD keeping Shaun Tait at bay in the 4 day match, their top order should really score some decent runs. The QLD bowlers contained the SA bats very well, considering SA at one stage were 1-130. The period where the QLD bowlers took 7-23 in 8 overs really won the game for QLD, as SA were dismissed for just 205. Qld came out and batted well, with James Hopes blasting a good half century and setting the innings up before rain stopped play.
