Re: Best Bet of the Day 24/11/08 1.00 Lingfield 6f Class 5 sprint, with 12 runners. Cumani has the fav but one I'm keen to take on as it steps out of maiden company for the first time. A couple of course specialists on show but I favour the EW chances of: Forest Dane (RPF 8/1) - Wide draw for this hold up horse but has the Lingfield expert, George Baker, booked to ride so early position shouldn't be a problem. 2 years since this horse last raced in this class, similarly 2 years since it raced off a mark so low, indicating it is ready to fire. Since it came back from an absence, has ran well 3 times finished 2L 6th over this trip when not getting a clear run, 3L 4th nto when ridden by amateur and finishing best of all and lto 3L 7th at Kempton over trip too far when drawn out in the car park. I think the jockey booking is a real signal of intentions and the 2lb drop in weights, drop in trip back to its optimum of 6f and drop in grade could see this horse go very close. EW
