Yes you'd have lost this SB, but if you pushed and won with a better hand before you hit the blinds next you would have picked up somebody else's. That said, I wouldn't have called over a quarter of my stack with TJo like Villain did.

Re: 20081105 - William Hill Super Series - Key Hands GAF What went for you in hand 1 went against you in hand 2 - nothing you can do about it. JUst has to go down as one of those variance incidents! Always a shame when it happens in a worthwhile tournament..... I have to agree with Samba re your push with 8-6...maybe it wasn't quite desperation time...it is difficult to comment on your reflection that you waited far too long. Looking at the hand histories it appears there was around half an hour between hands 3 and hands 4. Did you play anything in between? Were your totally card dead? A very good mate of mine is a top top player and there have been times when I go deep in a tourney that i'll call him and he helps me through the final stages. The one thing I really notice when I have him helping me call plays is aggression and position, and until one is able to implement that into his/her game then you become too reliant on getting cards. Iwan will always bet an uncontested pot, literally always, from the cut-off onwards. I know this is standard play but it is amazing how often i'll pass with 7-,2 8-4 or even k-9, q-10 yet with him stating to raise 2.5 the blinds lo and behold people fold. They dont know what I have etc etc!! There are tournies when you dont get that chance, people are always betting before and you cant call with shyte, but the one thing I have learnt is by accumulating chips you can afford to pass to re-raises. There is a fine line between being too passive and getting blinded away and patience being a virtue once you begin to master the skill your results will definitely improve.....

Re: 20081105 - William Hill Super Series - Key Hands It was a while ago, so I cannot remember sprecifically, however in these tournaments in general there seem multiple players involved in most pots and you dont often get hands on the button/cut off folded to you.
