Radio 1 listeners will be familiar with the excellent feature comedy Dave does every morning - tedious link. He links two songs together with a load of garbage, and I thought it may be a bit of fun to do something here. No serious form reading will be involved, it will just involve going for names and linking them in some sort of way. The first tip from the Tedious Tipster...... Today is the 5th of November which means one thing, its Bonfire Night. On bonfire night people stand around (supringly) bonfires made of wood and other junk and set fire to effigies of Guy Fawkes. Guy Fawkes was involved in a plot to blow up the houses of parliament back in the day. He was tortured to give up the names of the other conspirators that were involved and they were rounded up and put on trial. Whilst on trial, all were condemned to death after pleading guilty and after the judge had dropped his hammer, which gives us our first tip of the thread in the shape of DROP THE HAMMER in the 3.05 at Nottingham. ..........Second tip of the day........... Hammer, MC Hammer, released 'U Can't Touch This' in 1990. 1990 was the same year Nelson Mandela was released from South African prison. Mandela spent 27 years inside for crimes comitted while he spearheaded the struggle against aparteid. In those 27 years locked up on Robben Island he lived in poor conditions and had few privilidges, such as having a nice meal or seeing his wife. So when he got out and caught a glimpse of her again after not getting any for so long he probably thought, 'oh she is a cracker', which links us onto the second bet of the day SHE IS A CRACKER in the 1.40 novices hurdle at Huntingdon.
