2 Pts Carlos Rodriguez to win 2nd Quarter 10/1 Stan James Unknown before this season started but has acheived an incredible amount in his first year culminating in his first PDC Final in Germany last Saturday. On the way he thrashed Andy Jenkins(who qualified for this on Sunday),Peter Manley and Kevin Painter before losing a close final on the final leg. He's a high scorer who not phased by anyone and is deadly accurate on his doubles.1st up he'll have Terry Jenkins who is coming back into a bit of form but he's always susceptable to nerves.(I'll also be having a bet on Rodriguez when the price comes up for the Jenkins match) His quarter also contains Baxter,Van der Voort,Scholten,Part,Suljovic and Thornton. Most of these players are totally out of form bar one and that is Robert Thornton, who he would play in the last match in the Quarter, and this is where i hedge my bets. 5pts Robert Thornton to win the 2nd Quarter 4/1 Stan James This I feel is the main danger to the Rodriguez bet as Thornton is a world class player and former BDO Winmau Masters Champion. Thornton has only been on the PDC Circuit for about 6 months and in that time already he's earned £22,000 and with him not being seeded in any event thats a massive achievement as he's had to see off some of the best players in the PDC.He's a high scorer who can take out massive finishes under pressure and if he wasn't in Taylors side of the draw I'd think he wouldn't be far off getting to the final as he's beat Barney and Wade a couple of times. His first game up is against Part, who's struggling again with travelling, and I'll be having a bet on Thornton v Part when the prices come up.

Part v Thornton 10 pts Thornton to win. Evens Stan James. As mentioned in the first post Thornton has the high scoring and high finishing thats needed to beat Part.Part seems to have shrugged off his slow starting to matches, and in the first round it's the best of 9 legs, though Thornton will not be phased by him at all. This will be Thorntons first TV tourney for the PDC and with him wanting to climb the rankings and qualify for the World Championships he will up his game even more Jenkins v Rodriguez 10 pts Rodriguez to win. 7/4 Stan James Again as mention in the first post Rodriguez had a great run in the German Players Championship and was only narrowly edged out in a final leg against Colin Osbourne.Jenkins went out in the second round in Germany to Steve Maish who was then beaten by Rodriguez in the next match convincingly.Jenkins can suffer badly on doubles and against Carlos he won't get many chances to take them out.
