The Parsons Legacy for the 2009 National Thread!

I like to have an antepost bet at big prices in tthe National for a bit of fun. in 2007, McKelvey was a whisker away from landing a massive win for me, haivng backed him at triple figure prices around this time last year. My Ante Post selection from last year, Parsons Legacy was frustratingly withdrawn from the race. I also backed Mon Mome at big prices but he wasnt placed. Parsons Legacy is listed in the market again and should be aimed at the race, if fit, judging on the stables comments about the race last season: He was going to run in the Kim Muir again, a race in which he has been placed twice, including last season when he was an unlucky second. However, the Grand National is the main plan now and he would go there with a sound chance. He has some very solid form to his namehaving finished 3rd in the Scottish National last year and he has run 2 sound races this season at Cheltenham finishing 5th and 4th. I liked Parsons Legacy through his narrow defeat to Cloudy Lane at Cheltenham. He subsequently went on to finish 3rd in the Scottish National, beaten only 1/1/2 lengths. High Chimes win in the Kim Muir boosts his form too through a line with Cloudy Lane. I dont see a reason why they wouldnt aim him at the race again, given he is now fit. The horse looks to have the perfect profile for the race - fits all the historic trends, has the stamina, has the class, is the right age and should have a good weight. He is in the 4.05 at Cheltenham today so i'll be watching closely!

Has some top class form in the book, versatile re: ground and has a great racing weight. Looked big at 32.0 last year, bearing in mind Cloudy Lanes favouritism and looks even bigger at 3 figure odds this year.
