2.10 Nottingham I backed Dispol Grand for his last run at 16/1 so was gutted when he finished only a short head behind The Cuckoo at Southwell. However, on the upside, the handicapper has left his rating untouched for this race and he is let in off 65 again. He is infact due to go up 5 lbs in the future so is well in here. He was a winner on soft ground in a Musselburgh nursery handicap and had Majuba and stablemate Dispol Kylie behind. Majuba has been one of the hard luck stories of the season with a string on placed efforts, but has been competitive off marks of 79 and 82 in handicaps. Dispol Kylie was already a proven handicap winner off 74 going into that Musselburgh race so, as a result, I think Dispol Grand is running off a very attractive mark here. A break of 8 days should have him spot on for this, he has won for this jockey (Paul Fessey) before and could be the one to beat as he is dropped in grade here Bet 365 3/1 BOG. 1 pt win.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Wed 8/10/08 2.20 Exeter: Sunnyhill Boy Into handicap company for the first time today after showing up nicely in a couple of novice hurdles. LTO over a (short enough) trip of only 2m1f, however the first of those was over 2m4f at Doncaster (good to soft) where finished 4th. 5th & 6th home that day went on to win twice each subsequently and the 5th placed horse Fresh Winter went on to win from a mark of 125. Back up to what appears a more suitable trip and with a starting mark today of only 108, even if the selection didn't show any of the expected improvement, should be in the mix in this race IMO. Stable among the winners at the weekend too so goes down as my pick of the day. WIN
