Newmarket - 2/10/08

2.00 Alhaque 15 pts Limited form to go on but on whats been achieved on the track, this one sets a smart standard. Second behind a hills horse who is in the group race later and stayed on very encouragingly that day and should very much appreciate the extra furlong on that evidence, should come on well for that run, high purchase as well who clearly is thought of highly and has strong entries for the authorized connections. 2.35 Magaling 7.5 pts e.w Followed this one a bit now and he broke his maiden lto after a string of solid efforts without quite winning. they included just going down to a 100+ rated godolphin horse on debut, possibly not quite handling good. and also just going down to a gosden horse with the pair miles clear. His win lto was a workmanlike win and he took up the initiative to make all and win and whilst that wasnt a win that made you go wow, he still did the job and I still get the impression he is pretty well thought of, he was a dewhurst entry after all for a long time and its also possible that this big field could suit, certainly he showed lto that he could probably get further and that is needed in a such a big field with horses flying everywhere. Drawn 18 and whilst I see mixed messages with the pace, this did of course make all lto even though its hard to see him doing that here, overall though I can see him running a solid enough effort and place claims for sure for me. 3.10 Savarain 15 pts Probably a bit unlucky to just have the one win. That win came in a maiden but some of his handicap efforts read very well. these are in some of the hottest handicaps around and he was second at the royal meet. and also second again at glor. good. both of those times he just seemed to plug on and just a little bit one paced at the real crunch, in the manner of a horse who wouldnt possibly mind just that little bit extra trip which he gets today. Indeed on pedigree he certianly is not short of stamina and could relish it. Looks a classy act in th field. 3.45 Wingwalker 15 pts Lots of hype about this one. Major hype in fact and some people are even suggesting guineas. Today will tell us more but if impressions are anything to go by, one can understand the hype to some extent. Has won on both starts and both times relatively cosily especially lto and both times despite being very keen and showing the suggestion of real class to still win despite pulling so much. Indeed he seems the sort who will improve only further when stepping up in class as the better standard of the race could well enable him to settle even better. Both races have seen form boosts with countless winners from his first win and even the second from lto's win winning yesterday. There are some interesting rivals with derbaas being a horse I think could go on and two very respected fto winners from meehan and hills but cecil's one could just have that bit more class, we will see.

Re: Newmarket - 2/10/08 14:00 - Shemoli Jarvis has had 2 winners the last 3 days and just in general over the padt week or so the stable has been in hot form especially with Robinson on board. Should be priced around 8/1, might take an early price for it tomorrow morning. Its his only horse of the day at Newmarket as well which give indication that it has a great chance. 2 pts to win @ SP
