Y.S.K.M.V - A sensible staking plan for tennis??

Sensible Staking Policy? This is in reference to my dream of standing over the tennis gambling world like a colossus (see my “You Shall Know my Velocity†– Thread)…..actually it’s because higher maths passed me by while I daydreamed so my grasp of statistics is pretty fuzzy to say the least. I was rereading something about bet turnover on a site re American Football and the guy advocated a high turnover of bets if you wanted to make a decent return with low margins (obviously hopefully with reasonable success rate). I was wondering how this would apply to something like tennis betting (similar to football in the two horse race side of things but different in not having the artificial spread to level the playing field). There are 63 matches you can bet on in most tournaments (in 64 player line up) and 127 in Grand Slam Events. There are 3 grand slams left and 37 other tournaments (excluding the cuirrent one). It might not be possible to get prices for all matches in every tournament as I only have 4 online accounts none of which specialize in tennis (Hills, Ladrokes, Bet 365 and Powers). I am aiming to bet in a minimum of 20 matches in each tournament so I am hoping to get a total of 800 bets made until the end of the year. My stakes will be 20 Units per bet so I hope to turn over 16,000 Units for the rest of the year. I am aiming to have a yield of 5% which is better than I’ve ever managed in a football year. And which would give me a profit of 800 Units. My bank is 2,000 Units. I’m resigned to losing all of this in a worst case scenario but hopefully it won’t come to that. I would consider losing 50% of this a bit of a disaster (more from the bruised pride element than the financial distress). Maybe Joe , Mick or some more statistically inclined person could give me an idea of what the chances of losing the bank using the staking plan above is. Death by a thousand paper cuts as Margaret Thatcher would say isn’t really the way I want to go down if I do go down here (better to burn out than fade away and all that). If someone could give an idea of how many bets I would need to to make to give a decent extrapolation of the scenario after 800 bets? I will be betting a mixture of singles and doubles. My individual bets will be 1% of bank (as is recommended by many) but will the high volume of bets be an issue?

Re: Y.S.K.M.V - A sensible staking plan for tennis?? If you have a slight advantage over the bookie with your picks then statistically the best thing to do is to make many many many small bets to null out the inevitable negative swings and have a huge chance of long run profit. If you have a slight disadvantage with the bookie in your picks then the best thing to do statistically (to give yourself the highest chance of coming out infront) is plunge bet your entire gambling bankroll on one pick and quit after that win or loss Jez
