4.20 Folkestone Equuleus Pictor - bids for the hat-trick today after winning over the minimum distance at Nottingham and Windsor last month. His first win of the season came in a lesser grade at Yarmouth when he was rated 63, but he continued to run well in defeat off marks in the mid to high sixties and was rated 69 when scoring at Nott. The horse he had back in second was rated 65 (if you count the 6 lb penalty on his back), 3rd was rated 69 and 4th was rated 65. Clearly he faces much stronger opposition today, now he's upped to class 4 company, but he scored at this level at Windsor LTO when running off 71. Judge 'n Jury back in 2nd was officially rated 75 but was carrying a further 6 lbs in the form of a penalty that day, so effectively was rated 81, suggesting Equuleus Pictor could have a chance rated 81 here - even though the handicapper has risen him 10 lbs since that last win. Jack Dean keeps the ride as the pair look to make it 4/11 together and he won on soft ground at Nott so is potentially more suited to the ground than some of the other rivals here that prefer faster ground. 1 pt win.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Mon 8th Sept Bath 14:40 'Bright Enough' - I don't see the 6lb rise stopping her follow up. Destroyed the field on the Kempton all weather LTO. The step up to a mile clearly helped that day, and has been quickly sent out again to follow up. I predict she will take the race to them again today and it will take a good one to pass her. 1 pt win
