4.15 Wisdom's Kiss and Willie Ever are two of the main fancies for this race but I'm struggling to justify backing them at the prices of 9/4 and 9/2 respectively. Wisdom's Kiss is a CD winner in a handicap off his current mark of 68 (LTO) but he's up in class today and burden's a 6 lb penalty. He may go on and win but IMO he's not worth the gamble at that price. Wille Ever is perhaps a little more backable, but again, he's got to find quite a bit of improvement as he's up 7 lbs in the handicap and steps up in class also. The one that may be worth a little gamble could be the former Stoute horse, Officer, who is now with Gary Moore. He's only ran on the AW twice, winning over a mile at Kempton at this level off a 2 lb lower mark and then attempting the CD here at Wolv last October. Under the ride of an apprentice he was ridden clear 2f out but weakened quickly, but the more able George Baker takes the ride today. A recent run at Brighton will have freshened him up a little and he could have EW claims. 9/1 Betfred EW.

Re: Wolverhampton 18/8/08 2.15 Piccolo Diamante has a good record over G&D even though he has only ran over it 3 times but has picked up a win and holds a 33% strike rate also has a jockey on board who has a good record at the track, Willhewiz could go well after coming back down to a handy mark, Hasnt won for a year but has now plummeted down the weights by 8lbs on his best form. Advice Piccolo Diamante 1 Point Win or 1 Point E/W depending on price. Willhewiz 1 Point E/W. 2.45 Sparkling Crystal who is from the danehill family looks to be a progressive sort and could quite easily prove too strong for the rest of these and has a lot of weight in hand on the favourite and yard has to be respected. Advice Sparkling Crystal 1 Point Win. 3.15 Adage has to be a big danger on his polytrack form and over the distance combined holds a 43% strike rate and has also come down in the weights on his hat-trick of wins last year, Swords who has had a good season so far is another to watch, Has yet to win over the distance but has placed at this track and has come down in the weights with his claimer. Advice Adage 1 Point Win Swords 1 Point Win. 3.45 Sibi Saba who is the only runner for the godolphin yard has been given a ideal opportunity to open his account and Saeed Bin Suroor holds a 20% strike rate with his 3 year olds on the polytrack, has run the distance on his 2nd last time out and should improve on that run. Advice Sibi Saba 1 Point Win. 4.15 Willie Ever is stepping up in class on his previous wins on the AW and has a good chance of winning this as he is weighted the same on his win last month here, Prince Noel is another with a chance and holds a 50% strike rate on G&D and is again going up in class but has come down to a similar winning mark with his claimer taking a valuable 5lbs off. Advice Willie Ever 1 Point Win Prince Noel 1 Point E/W. 4.45 Straight Face has a good opportinty in the finale to improve on her recent ventures and is 5lbs down on his best form on the AW, Also jockey is riding well and has most wins on this track.
