I played in a £15 freezeout at Stoke Circus Casino starting with 5000 chips. I just took the bull by the horns and entered, absolutely shitting it!! about 65 runners, was dreading getting a hand!! when I got first hand (77), was visibly shaking when reaching for the chips, must have stood out like a sore thumb!! Anyway, chips dwindled down to about 1.5k and was feeling physically sick with nerves, tried a steal on the button with 25 off!), got raised all in by BB (I was ready to go now and scuttle off), called and made an excuse that I had somewhere to go, he turns over AK suited!! I hit straight on turn!!! Anyway my nerves just seemed to vanish after that. Still made basic errors, i.e. betting out of turn and a few issues with lack of poker ettiquette that upset some of the locals, had to learn very quickly!! Eventually ended up finishing second for £200 7 hours later losing to GUKPT finalist Carlos Barrara!!! What an experience and I would recommend anyone who has never played live to just go out and do it. It is something that I will definitely be doing again in the future.
