3.15 For quite a while now I've avoided anything ridden by Spencer but I think his mount in the 3.15, Manchurian, has an excellent chance here. In true Spencer fashion, he was delivered late LTO, and won a class 4 handicap at Goodwood off 75. On the other occasion he was paired with Spencer he was backed into 4/1 from 8's at Great Leighs and only went down by 0.75 l to Esteem Machine. The handicapper has put him up 4 lbs from his latest win but he was rated as high as 95 earlier in his career and although it was an AW race, he was running off 88 in the aforementioned Grl race. There could still be more to come. 5.30 Mandarin Spirit comes into the race in good heart with a win and two seconds in his last three runs, including a 1 length defeat to Dickie Le Davoir here last month on Gd/Frm ground. He carries a 6 lb penalty for his win LTO at Brighton and he has been raised 2 lb in the handicap for this. However, this looks a weak race and few of those that face the starter have recent winning form.

Re: Leicester 17/7/08 2:10 - My Transit is at 25/1 and has place chances for me if she can overcome a poor effort LTO at Pontefract. She has shown ability when only a short head behind Indian Art at Goodwood over very similat conditions.
