Can the Lucky 15 Bet help us beat the bookies?

Most of you probably already know about the lucky 15 bet. But I started working in Ladbrokes a few weeks ago, and have been finding out abit more about the different bets available. One of the most popular bets on the horses is the lucky 15, where you pick 4 selections and get 15 bets (4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and 1 fourfold). The main attraction of this bet is that you get a bonus if you only get one right. At ladbrokes I think you get double the odds, but the manager at my shop said he was pretty sure you could get triple the odds at either will hill or coral. I was just wondering whether anyone used this bet when betting on football? And whether you think it could be put to good use? I was thinking along the lines of picking 4 correct scorelines, and as long as you get one right you should make a profit. Or how about picking 4 first goalscorers? Again only one winner from four should roughly return your stake and theres potential for nice returns as you get more right.

I don't bet on first goalscorer or correct scores as they are 'mugs bets' IMO. I only bet on straight results. Doubles and singles generally don't pay enough to cover the unit stakes needed to make it worth while. Example. To bet on 4 teams you would need to place 6 doubles. If two teams won at even odds (decent picks) then the return would only be 4 units. 4 units to cover a 6 unit stake? Not worth it you see? I generally back 4 teams a week. I normally back singles. I will also use the money I would have placed on the doubles to increase my stake on the trebles and fourfold as this is only 4 trebles and one accy = 5 units. If three or 4 come in you smash your unit stake making it well worth while. I'm sure a maths egg head will come along and disprove my theory but this system has made me money over the last two seasons more often than not. However my BEST advice would be to stick to singles. :ok
