And You to Go .......

After hitting a brick wall sometime ago with my NLHE cash games, and stopping playing them for a long time , I decided to Invest in the Harrington Cash Game Volumes and start from the micro limits and work up. Its pushing me into a different style of play from the old way I used to approach a cash game, and the results have been somewhat 'mixed':eyes Anyhow this hand came up on tonight, just want opinions of what others would do in this situation. I had no real read on any players, (Pokerstars Hand Historys aren't working in PT2 at the moment ?) just the impression that there were no maniacs amongst them and most of the previous hand had either been passive to the River, or folded vs a bet on the flop. Re: And You to Go ....... Pre flop: First thing i notice is the small stack size of the first person in the pot so the implied odds there are bad, but they're improved by the bigger stack who raises afterwards. So a judgement call has to be made there - is the guy with the big stack really TAG because if so then there's little point getting involved in this spot as they're looking to isolate the small stack with a likely very good hand. As it turns out the short stack folds after limping :eyes but that's good for you as the dynamic of the hand goes back to normal instead of the scenario usually where they go all in and a side-pot is created and weird cautious situations are thrown up where people don't want to lose a big pot or just win the smaller one. I know my leak is or was playing too many hands from the SB and that's 6handed, i think full ring games there's absolutely no need to be getting involved with these hands OOP because you can sit patiently wait for a big hand and still get paid off. So i think regardless of results playing marginal hands OOP is a leak. Flop; I think check calling is ok. Keeping the pot small with not a lot on a flush draw board is probably the safe play. But then calling the extra $1.50 is very very marginal. The guys check raised quite big on a bit of a dry board, it's very unlikely he's bluffing because it's very ambitious so you've got to call into question the likely-hood that if a 9 or T hits you still won't be ahead so pretty much drawing to 8 outs and you don't have the pot odds on that. Turn: Totally looks like you're on the flush draw as played. So if opposition is bluffing it looks like you haven't hit so it's a card card for them. They way they've played it very much looks like their range is any As Xs, 44,88,77,TT,56s,69s,99. So you're pretty much crushed unless they're on a total bluff. With this info has to be a fold. IMO. I'll take a stab they hit a set with maybe 77.
