Anyone know a bit about horse biology ? Been having a look at fillies and mares and i got the impression they do better in December and January. But could there be a reason for this ? Does their biology change in that specific time period ? Something to do with breeding maybe ?

Re: fillies and mares I've noticed that the filly/mare does improve a few lengths in late summer/early autumn after getting some sun on their back, so it's surprising to see they do well in December/January - unless of course you're looking over the jumps? Another thing which can improve a filly/mare is when their in foal, which is still an ongoing debate about wether we should be informed beforehand.
