STAMFORD BLUE 5.10 BATH This is Stamford Blue’s time of year. His record in May, June and July reads 26 races with 10 wins and 3 placed as opposed to his record outside of these three months, 48 races with 3 wins and 8 placed. His summer record improves further when racing over 6 furlongs to 14 races with 7 wins and 2 placed. He is the only front runner here and he should be able to set the pace he wants on a course he enjoys. Haddon Frost takes a useful 5lbs off and his record for Harris reads 3 from 8 on his older horses. He looks a very good bet today.

Re: Bath 14/06/08 3.00 DOUGHNUT (NAP) This looks a perfect opportunity for Doughnut to get his 2nd win on the board, and the price of 11/8 looks generous. hannons youngsters are in great from at the moment, and this one did well to win an average maiden 1st time out. He beat some experienced horses that day, and he looked as if he could beone to follow in Novice company. He was then stepped up into a decent conditions race, and finished behind his stablemate, Icesolator. However, that run is A LOT better than it seems. The 2 horses that beat him home, have proven themselves to be very classy 2 year olds, with Icesolator going on to win a listed race in fine style, and the 2nd, Smokey Storm going on to win a Group 3 at Epsom in fine style. This form alone, puts Doughnuts run in perspective, and the 4th in the race Mazzola has also come out and run well since at a decent price. That race looks one of the better conditions stakes of the season, and makes Doughnut look a shoe in for today. Of his rivals, Russet Reward could only win a poor race at Ayr last time out on soft ground, and Kerrys Requiem didnt show much until last time out. Her run last time was a decent run behind the potentially smart Spin Cycle, but she was unfancied and I dont think she has the class of Doughnut. 11/8
