Want your own rating system ?

There's quite a few rating systems about for horse racing such as Massey or Racing Post or some of the subscription based sites or software. But i rarely see people using a rating system of their own. I'm going to assume for a moment that the reason for this is that using a rating system manually is simply too time consuming to be practical. If however it would be easy more people would have a go at it. I've now got myself a horse racing database that i've created myself and that i maintain as a web application. I could potentially create a rating system on this and publish that as a webpage. And with a bit more work i could even have a go at backtesting. ( in fact i plan on doing this for myself sometime someday ) Not making any promises just yet but..... if there's sufficient interest from people here i might be pursuaded to bring this forward a bit. Basically you'd need to come up with a clear plan for a rating. I provide an application that covers all the basics and then you can "plug-in" the actual calculation of the rating. The result can be backtested for yourself. The rating for future races can be displayed on a webpage. Interested ?
