Windsor ~ Monday 05/05

Recommended Posts

4.35 - Blue Spartan Noted this one last time, when heavily backed on debut from 33/1 to 12/1. Ran green on the day and did himself no favours doing so, but stayed on strongly when settled and come from long way back to finish 7th. Will come a lot for this run and a big improvement is expected. Richard Hughes takes the ride today, which is also a positive. 3/1 @ SpBet

Re: Windsor ~ Monday 05/05

4.05 Windsor (Class3)

Al Samha obviously had a fair reputation as he opened up 6/4 for his racecourse debut, however he was a big drifter out to 11/4. Despite this, and losing ground at the start, he won well.

Although the form didn't look great at first (Johnston's Glory rated 48 a close 5th), it turned into quite a decent little maiden;

The 3rd (high 70s horse) won a maiden which has also worked out well.

The 4th won 5l NTO and is rated 80.

The 6th bolted up in a handicap off 75.

The 8th won it's next two starts, both handicaps of 59 & 68.

Al Samha runs here of 86, the handicapper could've easily rated him a 2/3lb higher to be fair and with expected improvement he could be well in here.

McEvoy takes the ride here which is interesting, has ridden just four times for the yard from 2006 onwards (one winner).

Hurrican Hymnbook was a rare FTO winner for Brian Meehan. He ran a cracker in a nursery on his 2nd start when he caught a tartar in Ibn Khaldun. The winner won two group races after, as we all know.

The 3rd won a nursery NTO, as did the 6th, the 7th won three on the spin back end, the 5th won a cond stakes NTO and the 11th won a maiden.

A pretty warm nursery to say the least, so in the 7lb he has been raised for being the runner-up is fair.

Sure to be fancied by a few and a big danger, although stable's runners usually need the run - only one FTO winner this season.

Bencoolen took the eye under a easy ride here LTO. Roger Charlton finally had another winner today but although this is an interesting runner - it's not a stable I follow at the best of times. A runner but will imrpove for 10f or more.

Redesignation is hard to assess. His debut form is decent and no surprise he won 2nd time out. Clipped heels and came down when odds on for his final start. Fairly handicapped on his debut run, but not enough for me to back him FTO.

Kinnego Bay wasn't at all fancied on his debut when he finished 6th to Captain Brilliance with some decent types behind him. Showed a similar level of form on his 2nd start, 8th to Almajd, the 2nd, 4th and 5th all winning NTO.

He ran 3rd in another decent maiden on his final start behind Corrybrough. He is well handicapped (77) on those efforts and although he looks too speedy to stay, if he does he could easily figure here. If he doesn't stay then he may be interesting in sprints later.

Al Samha 70% of stake 4.4 betfair Hurricane Hymnbook 20% of stake 5.7 betfair Kinnego Bay 10% of stake 15.5 betfair
