Rugby League - Aus v NZ May 9

Recommended Posts

The Centenary Test this Friday with the Aussies taking on the Kiwi's in Sydney. Darren Lockyer ruled himself out overnight with his lingering knee injury still causing concerns, which is a massive blow for the Aussies. Lockyer is all class and has proven himself over the last 3 years to be an inspirational leader. Ricky Stuart has moved one of his Sharks players, Greg Bird to 5/8 which I think could cost the Aussies some points. Bird is a genuine attacking lock, not a 5/8 and I personally would have liked to have seen Scott Prince named at 5/8 with JT at halfback. These two would wreak havoc in the back half of the game against a tiring NZ defence. Apart from that disruption, it is hard seeing the Aussies getting beaten here. The Aussie outside backs with Slater, Inglis and Hodges running amok should cause plenty of headaches for the Kiwi's. If it is a dry track in Sydney the Aussies could really pile on some points and if the bookmakers set the line at between 12 - 14 points there should be plenty of money for the Aussies to cover.
