3.20 - Mutajarred and Just Lille are NR's here, leaving just the 6 left in. Spice Route wasn't a million miles off Kandidate at Kempton LTO in a listed contest but the one I'll be on is Mick Channon's Championship Point, who was contesting group races towards the back end of last year and as such, may not be as bad as form figures may suggest from a quick glance. Daryll Holland takes the ride here, after taking a listed race on this one last year at Ascot, with Heaven Sent and Emirates Skyline some of those behind. Handles a bit of cut in the ground too and finished a neck second here on its reappearance last season to suggest it can go well fresh. (7/2 Bet 365 BOG).

Re: Ripon 17/4/08 2.10 - CREWEZANDO P D Evans horses are in flying form, especially his younger horses. A trainer in early season form is alays worth folowing, big advantage when other youngsters from the yard are running well. Always prefer to follow yards like this rather than cold yards who havent had any juviniles winning. (three individual winners, two first time out, from nine runners). CREWEZANDO is a half-brother to the very useful 2yo B A Foxtrot - who won First time out as a 2yo, over 5F on GdSft, exactly as today !!. 4/1 With Betfred 2.45 - BALDEMAR 20 Runner field, High numbers usually have the best of it in big fields here at Ripon. The one that stands out for me is BALDEMAR of Karl Burkes. The biggest negative is the form of the trainer, however he has had a lot of big priced runners so maybe can be forgiven for this. Has won over C&D second time out. The horse has only had 5 starts so improvement is still possible, has also been gelded which usually brings about slight improvement. Last two runs were over an inadequate 5F, looks better suited to 6F. Last Run was good form, the M Channon horse went on to be beaten 8L in a Class 1 race, so above average form for a runner in a Class 4 Ripon Handicap. Has the speed here to be prominent & make the best of the High draw, 14/1 With Betfred - Win & E/W
