I would be intersted to know what other punters on here have to say about these two.... 3.35- Carte Diamond - this one hasn't race since 2005 (injured according to Racing Post) but had some great form up to that point. Apart from when it pulled up in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival it has some great form on both the flat and hurdles and was second in the Totesport Ebor. For the Ebor it was running off 105 and is only rated at 100 today. Could it go well at 11/1 or is Soapy Danger the best bet bearing in mind that it races off a great mark itself and has proven itself when returning from breaks before (two 2nds - beaten by a nk on both occassion). Could Carte Diamond be one to watch today and then pencil into the notebook for its next run? 3.45 - Rosbay - placed on its last run over hurdles in February but had some good flat form last season, including a a win over this trip at this class at Chester on heavy going. Should handle the Soft, Good-soft in places going today and racing off only a 1 lb higher mark from that Chester win. Its going for 12/1 with some firms. The Racing post say it is badly drawn, is stall 16 going to be a major disadvantage here? The odds are not inspiring me with a great deal of confidence, just wondered if anyone else could shed any light on their chances, cheers.

Re: Doncaster 29/3/08 I think Carte Diamond is going to need the run as that is a hell of a long time off. Some horses never really recover and depends just how bad the injury was and how it has affected it. You really need to see it parade and go to post before parting with any money on it. I also think Soapy Danger may need the run, really fancy this but price is putting me off at the moment. If The Last Drop is anywhere near its best it could take this at 5-1, the Leger form of 2006 is pretty good but last 3 runs it was pulled up, 11th and 12th albeit in better races than this and trip may be too short. Interesting race but Soapy Danger may still have improvement and looks the 1 to beat.
