Following on from my reasonably successful big field handicap specialisation thread, I'll be trying out a multiple bet when there are sufficient number of races to choose from. The bet, when applicable, will consist of 4 E/W selections with a 1pt E/W Lucky 15, total stake of 30pts per bet. ** if following, please use small stakes until it is proven to work or not! ** First bet to follow shortly....

Re: RussP's Big Field Handicap Multiples Comptonspirit (14/1) Misaro (6/1) Music Note (6/1) Brastar Jelois (16/1) ** prices with Betfred ** 2.00 Redcar A 5f sprint, Class 5 handicap with 13 runners. I'm favouring a big priced E/W shot here in the shape of: Comptonspirit (16/1 Totesport) - Seasonal reappearance so fitness has to be taken on trust but has some decent bits of form, on a good mark and eyecatching jockey booking makes the 16's on offer look too big. Since being dropped to 5f, finished 2nd off 58 before winning nto off the same mark, under todays jockey. Raised massively in weights to 69 and finished a promising 4th of 14. Lto is to be ignored as last of 6 at Chester, a course where form doesn't always stand up and that off 71. Down to 67 today and reunited with Paul Mulrennan, this horse has a nice E/W chance today. 2.20 Warwick The opening race on the card sees a 5f Class 5 sprint with 14 runners battling it out. I had hoped for a bigger price on my selection but I'm still pretty sweet on the chances of: Misaro (6/1 Betfred) - Currently 2nd fav who holds a big chance today under these conditions. Trailblazer who isn't ideally drawn in box 10 but did scoot up by 3L the last time it ran here, coincidentally from the same draw. This horse is fit from the AW and has put in some decent efforts in better class races than this and off much higher marks. Races off a mark today of just 71 and steps back into Class 5. It's last run in Class 5 was 16 starts ago where it won convincingly, off 72. Has run off marks 78 and upwards since so the big drop has to be of interest. Has held its form well, will appreciate the going and from a stable going well at present. Must go very close and is considered a major E/W bet to nothing. 3.30 Warwick Just 9 runners for this Class 5 handicap over 1m. Despite only 9 runners, that's still enough for me to get involved with an E/W bet in this handicap: Music Note (6/1 Betfred) - Top weight here and the all girl combo of Gay Kelleway & Hayley Turner team up. Has has 3 recent runs on the A/W, the best 2 starts ago when 2nd of 5 under todays jockey. Won at the beginning of last term on turf off 80 and comes here on a mark of 70. Done well last 2 starts on turf, off 77 when running well but jockey ruined all chance by racing alone and lto off 75, leading briefly at the furlong pole but finished 6th behind easy Spring Mile winner Don't Panic. This smaller field will suit and I feel this horse will be difficult to pass today. Nice E/W price of 6's. 5.15 Warwick A big field of 17 runners for the last here, a Class 6 handicap over 1m3f. Again, on a big priced E/W runner from the top of the handicap in: Brastar Jelois (16/1 Betfred) - One of 2 Hollinshead runners but stables 1st string. This consistent sort will appreciate any ease in the ground which it will get here. Jockey gets on well with this horse who has form figures under the jockey of 2-4-3-7-3-1-5, never finishing more than 4L off the pace. Also has a decent draw, in box 4. This is a poor handicap and, if fitness isn't a problem, I think 16/1 could look a big price, especially paying 4 places.
